Le Brévent- Lac du Brévent- Planpraz

Moderate* hiking in Chamonix Mont- Blanc offering a cable car ride with jaw-dropping views, followed by more
amazing scenery on the trail.

Your starting point of this hike is the top station of the cable car Le Brévent.

To reach this stunning viewpoint, enjoy a scenic ride. First, a gondola lift takes you from Chamonix directly to Planpraz. Then, a Brévent cable car carries you up to the summit, where breathtaking panoramic views await.
From the summit station, an open trail leads you down to the picturesque Lac du Brévent.

After relaxing by the lake, take the same steep path back to the Le Brévent.

Next, walk downhill towards Planpraz station. The trail snakes down the mountainside, revealing spectacular  vistas of Mont Blanc
and the neighboring peaks.

The terrain is a mix of gravel and dirt, with occasional rocky patches and pockets of snow.
At Planpraz take the gondola lift down to Chamonix. 

This nice trail rewards you with phenomenal panoramas that will leave you speechless.

What you should know

This trail is particularly popular, so be prepared for more company on your hike during peak season.

Don't forget, it can get chilly up at higher elevations, so pack some layers! 

* the path to the lake is a bit challenging - it's steep and covered in loose stones. However, for people in decent physical condition, it shouldn't be a problem
